The Pledge of Allegiance Belongs in the Schools
Here's a little history for everyone to consider, it's all been related to you before, but evidently some have
forgotten it, it's summarized to make it simpler, the history isn't what's important, what's important at this
point is the fact that some individuals have forgotten the fundamentals that this great nation was founded on.
This page is a reminder for all that if we continue at the rate we're going we may no longer have a country or
the basic freedoms our forefathers fought so hard to achieve, freedoms that we now take for granted...
In the early 1400's a Spanish funded, Italian exploration expedition discovered a "new" continent. In the 1500's an
English group of immigrants attempted to settle into an area on the eastern seaboard, this attempt failed for
various reasons. In the early 1600's another group of English immigrants settled in and thru the very core
qualities that made this country what it is they persevered. In the late 1700's the colonies had become quite
populated, some of the more adventurous had gotten curious about what lie to the west, they moved further
inland, and at great peril to themselves and their families they settled into remote areas and once again
persevered. There were stirrings of unrest throughout the continent, with very little organization but a very
strong will for what felt right a cry went out, a cry that was heard around the world, a proclamation of a
people interested in belonging to no-one, a declaration of independence.
After several hard years and the loss of
many a life, independence was won, America was born. Since that birth this nation has suffered many trials and
tribulations, from that war for independence to the tragedy that marked the date September 11, 2001 in our minds
and on our calendars for the rest of our days, but thru it all we've survived, and this survival has served to
strengthen us as a nation. This nation was founded on the three G's, God, Guns, and Guts; it's thru these qualities
that it'll survive. And just one last small point here, I am by nature pagan, I was raised in a good Southern Baptist
home but decided to go my own way, the ability, nay right to make that decision is granted to me by the Constitution
of this great United States. I love my country and the flag that represents it, I will continue to pledge my allegiance
to both...
I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States of America,
And to the republic for which it stands,
One nation under God, indivisible,
With liberty and justice for all...
